The moment I’m about to hand in my gloves,
she drifts in softly, handing me a rose.
She says nothing — yet I hear her voice,
her notes, her silence, drowning out the noise.
She captures you and makes you a friend.
You gaze into her sound, and watch time bend.
She teaches, she preaches, tears you with a kiss,
she’ll make you head-bang — if that’s what you miss.
When I’m with her, the world reimagines for me;
it matches its note to fit my mood.
But sometimes, I mood to fit the note — that’s how much she enamours me.
This is an ode to music — that soulful heart with no mind.
She accompanies me when life happens,
and I dance with her instead.
